Change in height of bone surrounding the implant (height from the maxillary sinus floor to the implant tip): Immediately after surgery, all patients had grafted bone between the implant tip and the maxillary sinus floor, with a mean of 2.00 ± 1.51 mm.
To achieve an adequate width and height of bone, various bone grafting techniques have been developed.

After three years, the researchers found that all of the women had significantly increased the density of their alveola bone, the part of the jaw that surrounds the tooth sockets, and had smaller increases in the height of the bone in the sockets, another measure of oral health.
