A principal reason for discrepancies with previous results may be that microscopy, electronic and computing equipment have developed considerably in the past 20 years, and thus allow for much finer delineation of spike heights than the original 1987 study [ 11], particularly among F1 hybrids.

While lahar properties such as velocity and sediment concentration are also important to consider when evaluating overall lahar hazard, height is used here to express the hazard due to its ease in interpretation and use in delineation of hazard zones.
The delineation algorithm was able to detect overstorey trees (i.e. those >12 m in height), although it tended to over-segment trees (i.e. to subdivide single trees), finding 16% more large trees than were actually present in the plots (Fig. 4).
To assess the accuracy of delineation, histograms were produced of number of stems observed in the field versus those delineated in different height classes within the forest plots.
Delineation of homogeneous patches is possible when one or more characteristics of trees or stands (e.g., tree height, canopy cover, density) are considered in a forest ecosystem.
Framing and the delineation of vision reign.
It's very different from Klimt's wispy, sketchy delineation.
And that is why I've made this delineation.
