The strongest relationships between green crown height and other LiDAR metrics were with the LiDAR height coefficient of variation and skewness (Table 3).
A: number of species (i.e. species richness), B: Fisher's alpha diversity index, C: Shannon's H index, D: Pielou's evenness index, E: Phylogenetic diversity (PD), F: Phylogenetic diversity rate, G: total number of individuals, H: mean vegetation height, I: vegetation height standard deviation, J: vegetation height coefficient of variation.

Heights of 11 pins placed 3 cm apart in a profile gauge were measured to determine the standard deviation of heights, the coefficient of variation of heights, the sum of squared heights, chain and tape ratio and circular variance of angles.
The total number of individuals, the average vegetation height, the standard deviation of height and the coefficient of variation (calculated by dividing the standard deviation by the mean height) were used to characterise the vegetation structure.
This explanation is also consistent with the results for height standard deviation and coefficient of variation, indicating that plant height in the interior of the site is more homogeneous and consequently that understorey plants had a shorter time to develop in the interior of the site than at the edges.
These metrics included the mean height, percentiles of the height (25, 50, 75 and 90), the maximum height, the standard deviation, the coefficient of variation of the height distributions and the fractional cover.
> -wrap-foot>> -wrap-foot> DBH, diameter at breast height; TH, total height; H, stem height; SD, standard deviation; CV, coefficient of variation; SE, standard error.
From the test results, cylindrical specimens with 150 mm diameter and 300 mm height have a minimum coefficient of variation compared with other studied shapes.
