Our results demonstrate that the time savings provided by the Growth Direct System compared to visual plate counting were similar for healthy log phase R. pickettii cells, cells subjected to prolonged incubation (10 days) in pure water at either 4°C or room temperature, and cells injured by chlorine treatment (Table S3).
Cell viability should be at least >95% for healthy log-phase cells in cultures.
