Mr. Tennant ("Dr. Who") is reserved, cool and quite believable as Mercier, a man scarred by combat and bereavement; he is plausible even as a French country gentleman turned spymaster.
In short, he was plausible, and certainly many people who worked with him, civil servants included, thought he was good at what he did.
Even so, Lotwin said he thinks it's plausible that more people retain divorce lawyers around Valentine's Day, even if they're not his own clients.
The answer is either "Of course he did, idiot" or "It's plausible he didn't, actually" – depending on whom you ask.

Furthermore, he interacts with Apple regularly, and though he wouldn't confirm or deny, it's plausible that he has some inside information about the upcoming tablet.
So it's plausible he would have been okay with inheriting his father's government and officials, even wanting to maintain continuity.
