Our findings imply that home deliveries are not evenly distributed and that they cluster with other markers of vulnerability, including poverty, lack of education, poor housing and water supply, hazardous location and insecurity of tenure.
Left unchecked, like any other industry, agro-industry can create environmental pollution or hazards in various ways: the discharge of organic or hazardous wastes into water supplies; the emission of dust or gases that affect air quality and produce toxic substances; and the use of dangerous machinery that can put the safety and health of workers at risk.
More plants hold smaller supplies of hazardous chemicals, and often chemical products are produced as needed.
Dispose properly of hazardous materials, including cleaning supplies, motor oil, fluorescent light bulbs, batteries, pesticides, and fertilizers.
But the vaccine can be hazardous, and the available supply of 77 million doses is insufficient to cover the 285 million Americans.
As part of its partnership with nonprofit The Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals Foundation, it will eliminate all hazardous chemicals from its supply chain in the next four years.
For example, when Nike, Adidas and Puma all commit, as they did just this past year, to eliminating all discharges of hazardous chemicals throughout their supply chains by 2020, the effects race around the globe before lumbering multi-national regulatory bodies can put on their shoes.
Apart from the predictors that we identified, poor housing, lack of water supply and hazardous location were associated with home births in the Mumbai study, indicating that apart from individual and household level factors, the type of neighbourhood also played a role.
"Virtually every household has products that could be hazardous to children, like cleaning supplies, medicines, health and beauty products, and you compare that to 20 to 25 percent of households that use tobacco products," he said.
"Tobacco companies shouldn't contribute to the use of hazardous child labour through their supply chains," says Margaret Wurth, children's rights researcher at Human Rights Watch.
