"have heard about" is a correct and usable phrase in written English.
It is often used to indicate that someone is aware of or familiar with a certain topic or piece of information. For example, "I have heard about your recent promotion at work. Congratulations!" This sentence conveys that the speaker is aware of the promotion and congratulates the person on their achievement.
