Following Europe's lead, most of the world uses GSM systems and it is hellaciously expensive to upgrade GSM to harmonized 3G CDMA-based standards.
Expression levels for soluble protein from the codon harmonized MSP142 3D7.2 and MSP142 Camp.2 genes equaled the levels produced for FMP010.
Expression levels for codon harmonized MSP142 Catp.2, at 12.0 mg/g wet cells (Fig 5B, Table 1) were very high; we were not able to express wild type MSP142 (Camp) in E. coli (Table 1).

4. Full codon harmonization of MSP142 Camp gene fragment: The Camp allele of MSP142 is a chimera of the 3D7 and FVO alleles, and was made by splicing AlwNI (New England Biolabs) fragments corresponding to the 5'end and 3'end of the codon harmonized 3D7 and FVO genes, respectively.
