"The longer the delay, the more people are exposed to harmful pollutants," Peter M. Iwanowicz, director of environmental health for the American Lung Association of New York State, said of the power plant rules.

In the case of plastic constituents thought to affect the human endocrine system, any level of exposure, no matter the route, may be potentially harmful, says Carol Kwiatkowski, executive director of The Endocrine Disruption Exchange.
"States are looking to make cuts that will have long-term harmful effects," said Sue Urahn, managing director of the Pew Center on the States.
"This change is designed to protect our users from deceptive or harmful financial products," Google's director of global product policy, David Graff, wrote in a blogpost announcing the ban, which goes into effect this summer.

Wasteful spending — perhaps $700 billion a year — "does nothing to improve patient health but subjects you and me to tests and procedures that aren't necessary and are potentially harmful," the president's budget director, Peter Orszag, wrote in a blog post characteristic of the administration's argument.
"At this point, it's astonishing that anyone still thinks marijuana is more harmful than alcohol," Mason Tvert, communications director for marijuana policy reform group the Marijuana Policy Project, told The Huffington Post.
