Species inventories should not only incorporate taxonomic surveys (for which complementary genetic data is mandatory in the face of taxonomic conundrums), but also a thorough assessment of inter-harbor distribution patterns in order to define efficient internal borders for further action.
In addition, R. exoculata and C. chacei, which are phylogenetically very close [ 62], harbor the same distribution pattern for DIRS1-like families (Fig. 4) with close corresponding sequences (e.g. average of 89% sequence identity within Alvi1 family).
Also, Lysinibacillus harbors the smallest distribution of category M (Cell wall/membrane biogenesis) features, which is almost identical in its pan- and core genome, whereas a shift was observed in B. cereus group and in B. subtilis, with a slight overrepresentation in the pan genome compared to the core genome.
