It was the Half Straddle company, not Half Saddle.
Ms. Satter's experimental theater company, Half Straddle, has never before taken on a real-life subject.
But Ms. Winner's status as a young woman navigating an unfamiliar world connected it to other Half Straddle shows.
The latest to come out of that series is Tina Satter's "House of Dance," being presented in association with Ms. Satter's company, Half Straddle, and the Abrons Arts Center.
And if you think deconstructionist, experimental theater must be dry and dreary, the Half Straddle, an emerging troupe, has another surprise for you.
"House of Dance" is a presentation of New York City Players (Mr. Maxwell's company, and he is the producer here), in association with Half Straddle.
The New Ohio's annual festival of experimental, devised and playful performance is curated this year by the likes of Elevator Repair Service and Half Straddle.
Graceful is hardly the word for the acting styles on display in Radiohole's "Inflatable Frankenstein" and Half Straddle's "Seagull (Thinking of you)," nor would their performances consider it a compliment if they were thus described.
And Ms. Satter, artistic director of Half Straddle, follows last year's football-themed "In the Pony Palace: Football" with a sequel, "Away Uniform," starring Pete Simpson, a familiar downtown face from, among other shows, Ms. Lee's "Lear".
And Tina Satter's "Seagull (Thinking of You)," to be performed by Half Straddle, another Brooklyn ensemble, draws on alternative translations of Chekhov's "Seagull," as well as some of his letters in a rumination on what makes us human.
Also on the bill, Tina Satter and the Half Straddle company present "Seagull (Thinking of You)," which uses Chekhov as a springboard to consider success and failure in performance and love.
