The other GWP numbers (72 for a 25 year period; 33 as the new value about to be used by the IPCC for the 100 year period) should all be reduced by the factor of 4/11 x ½ x (44/60) = 0.13 when considering leakage danger.
What are CO2e and global warming potential (GWP)?
Germany now has more than 30 gigaWatt peak (gWp) of solar plants installed, such that on almost all days in the spring, summer and autumn, solar energy surges into the grid at a time when demand is at is strongest (air conditioning etc is running like mad) and when spot market energy prices are at their highest.
The cooler units also have a lower greenhouse warming potential: 3GWP compared with the industry standard cooler, which has a GWP (global warming potential) of 1300.
So why is the Conservative party not shouting about these percentage-point advances in GWP? Mainly, you guess, because of the difficulty of marrying that message with the daily sermon on the necessary virtues of austerity.
