Security guards have long been a sleepy presence here, but a string of fatal attacks, culminating in the siege of three Mumbai hotels by terrorists last November, have created a demand for new and better trained guards, state-of-the-art equipment and guns for the guards and businessmen themselves.
The author, Keith G. Logan, a former Nuclear Regulatory Commission investigator, interviewed more than 50 guards at Unit 2. The 33-page report says that 59percentt of the guards "stated that they believe that a chilled environment exists" about raising security concerns, and that 12percentt reported that they had suffered retaliation for doing so.
STATE DROPS ITS CASE AGAINST UCONN GUARD: The state of Connecticut has dropped its case against the University of Connecticut guard Rashad Anderson, who was charged last September with threatening and breach of peace.
According to Chinas Law of Guarding State Secrets, which came into force in 1989, the scope of state secrets is broadly defined.
"Those that have questionable loyalties, or are just demoralized are not put in charge of guarding state buildings," he told VICE News.
