This species typically roosts on the upper and outer branches, and at low to moderate colony densities, where the solar panels are plausibly exposed to extended periods of direct and indirect sunlight; in contrast, P. scapulatus tend to roost low to the ground, beneath dense foliage, and in large and dense colonies, such that panels are likely exposed to infrequent and indirect sunlight.
