First of all, the time variations of the power ε(t) and DD t) current [proportional to the dissipation δ(t)] have similar time variations within the accuracy of the data set (ε based only on the solar wind data set, J deduced only from the ground data set), confirming that the DD current is primarily driven by the S M dynamo.
