A Sytox green viability assay was modified from Jones and Singer [ 37].
Alternatively, cells plated at identical densities were incubated in the presence of Sytox Green viability dye (Invitrogen #S7020), and kinetics of Sytox Green incorporation (reflecting cell death) was imaged, measured, and analyzed using the IncuCyte FLR imaging system (Essen Bioscience).
