Labor supports measures to boost school performance including better entry standards for teaching courses, greater principals' autonomy, continuing education for teachers and evidence-based policies.

"If I have a great principal there and if I have great teachers there," he said, "that, to me, benefits the students no matter how large the class size is".
The goal of these efforts is to have a great principal in each of our nation's public schools — to make sure that, just as I did, all kids get a chance at success.
