NBS domain-containing sequences have been isolated using degenerate PCR from many agronomically-important Poaceae species including cereals [ 33- 37] and forage grasses [ 24, 38, 39].
It prefers short grasses 7 to 10 cm (about 3 to 4 inches) high.

The α-chloroacetamide herbicide metazachlor (or 2-chloro-N- pyrazol-1-ylmethyl)acet-2-chloro-N- pyrazol-1-ylmethyllature) is a cell division inhibitor that is widely used in agriculture for the pre-emergence control of broad-leaved weeds and annual grasses [1] (Fig. 1 ).
There were 8 species of perennial grasses, 6 annual grasses, 9 legumes and 16 forbs present in the grassland.
The demonstrated benefits of Azospirillum are explained by its successful association with grasses [15, 16, 22].
Of the 64 species emerged from the soil seed banks samples, 27 were grasses (19 annual and 8 perennial grasses), 35 annual forbs, and 2 woody species (Appendix Table 4).

By contrast, the total number of invader plants (+10%) and the number of invader grasses (+18%) were increased in trend in earthworm addition treatments compared to reduction treatments in 2006 (F total) 1,40 = 3.04, P = 0.09 and F(grasses) 1,40 = 3.60, P = 0.06).
This was consistent with previous research using a number of different pasture grasses [9], [10], [11].
