At the end of the incubation period, cultivated cultures were evaluated by the surface (aerial mycelial) and the base color, surface lattice (bare, waxy, powdery, granular, suede-like, velvety, furry, fluffy), topography (flat, raised, dispersed), the colony's meandering shape (the radially, the brain, such as craters) and evaluated by the speed of reproduction.
Interaction with topography is particularly critical for granular flows, because their rheology requires modeling of the pressure field, which is strongly linked to surface curvature and associated centrifugal forces.
Topography affects segregation mechanisms within granular flows (Baines 1998; Waltham 2004), determining threat for local populations in the case of PDCs (Fisher 1995; Abdurachman et al. 2000; Lube et al. 2011).
Our model results also show that the nature of the runout base has a significant influence on the runout distance, topography and internal deformation of a granular slope.
Note that as pressure decreases (and, therefore, the size of the water meniscus is reduced), topography images show a better-defined granular structure, which can be attributed to single (or a cluster of) nanocrystals (grain boundaries would correspond to the depressed regions [32]).
