Using the Huainan mining area as an example, we calculated the modulus of erosion, its volume and classified the grade of soil erosion for both the original area and the subsidence basin.
Renovations included sod and tree removal, grading of existing soil (no soil was imported), and sod replacement.
The spatial patterns and grading areas of soil TN and AN were different among hill types and different scales.

According to a comparison of the proposed additional sampling optimization method with spatially even sampling method and spatially random sampling method, the case study demonstrated that the proposed optimization method based on the error index is superior to the other methods in improving the prediction precision of soil contaminant grades and that its performance is stable.
This replacement of soil by RBI Grade 81 imparts strength to the soil mixtures due to the formation of cementitious compounds; in turn, it develops a good bonding and hence there is an improved stability to the subgrade (Table 3).
