The main behaviour change technique selected was "graded task" [ 29].
Graded Task intervention (Additional file 1): Recipients were presented with five situations in which GPs would be required to manage a patient presenting with sore throat.
Intervention group Patients assigned to the intervention group received a 90 minute, graded task oriented circuit training programme twice a week over a 12 week period (24 sessions).
The Graded Task intervention had a significant main effect on the theoretical construct targeted by this intervention (self-efficacy) and also on the TPB construct of PBC (indirect) (Table 4).
The graded task component aimed to help participants achieve incrementally greater levels of 'mastery' by building on existing abilities.

Balance exercises consisted of repetition of a series of graded tasks specific to functional balance with targets of distance and time to provide feedback.
