The use of the phrase "gotta be" in written English is not considered grammatically correct.
It is usually considered colloquial language, and therefore should be avoided in formal writing. Instead, the phrase "have to be" is preferred in formal writing. For example: "It looks like we have to be careful if we want the experiment to be successful."
