By opening up to web apps, Amazon has taken a step that hints at its longer-term plans on mobile – a comprehensive app store which grows its numbers by betting on the good-enough capabilities of the web, and R&D spent specifically on making "the web" work better and faster on Amazon hardware.
Unfortunately, only 64 of the 194 members of the World Health Organisation (WHO) have surveillance procedures, laboratories and data-management capabilities good enough to fulfil their obligations under an agreement known as the International Health Regulations.
High levels of greenhouse gas emissions, the study reports, produce a "sharp acceleration of oceanic deoxygenation in the first half of the 21st century". Indeed, the study finds, in some regions the trend may already be happening and could theoretically be detectable, if measuring capabilities were good enough and records went far enough back in time to capture a trend.
Hence, competing in the good enough market requires very different organizational capabilities than leading in the premium segment.
"That a U.S. government agency has decided that our capability is not good enough is pretty amazing," he says.
If we assume the capability exists to develop technology good enough to replace human pilots, we can also imagine some really futuristic capabilities.
[But attribution capabilities] are probably good enough to publicize the technology with the aim of deterring state leaders.
"It will be harder to pull off image recognition in that the camera capability now is not good enough," he says.
The company claims that the higher resolution and more sophisticated color capabilities of the P-1000 displareare good enough to allow users to edit and print pictures without using a computer.
