Several groups have characterized Asp-STs in healthy individuals and patients with malignant hematological diseases, while others sought to develop GMP-compliant methods of expanding or bioengineering Asp-STs ex vivo as immunotherapy.
For GMPs, such methods should be specifically adapted or developed to give applicants a clear guidance.
For all protocols, patient's PBMCs must first be isolated through leukapheresis, a density gradient using Ficoll-Paque solution, or another Good Manufacturing Practice- (GMP-) compliant method.
