Part of the GMA/FPA (Grocery Manufacturers of America/Food Products Association), a lobbying organization, who promotes the interests of the food, beverage and consumer products industry on key issues that affect the ability of brand manufacturers to market and deliver their products to the consumer. The GMA played an important role in the development of the Universal Product Code (U.P.C.) in the early 1970s.
