For genuine thinking, we need words.
I thought change meant genuine thinking -- a foreign policy no longer dominated by knee-jerk neocons.
The fact is that trendy acronyms and snappy buzz words have a way of limiting genuine thinking on war.
What is important is that young people "learn how to learn" (acquire genuine thinking skills) in college and, if possible, find out what they can be passionate about.
(By "genuine thinking" I mean as opposed to merely being conscious of feeling hungry, tired, angry and so on and wanting to do something about it; in other words, anything that animals cannot do). Thinking cannot be done without words.
The question is how to use technology in a way that not only maximizes the learning experience but also enables the acquisition of genuine thinking skills and habits that will sustain them for the rest of their life.
