In the present study, an association of the TPA Alu I/D and PAI-1 4G/5G polymorphisms with MS was analyzed within the Genomic Network for Multiple Sclerosis (GENoMS).
This study was conducted within the Genomic Network for Multiple Sclerosis (GENoMS), which includes four populations (Croatian, Slovenian, Serbian, and Bosnian and Herzegovinian [BH]) that share the same geographic location and a similar ethnic background, a Slavic origin.
QPCR primers for candidate genes were designed with the software CloneManager (Sci-Ed Software, [ 58]) using the corresponding sequences of the tomato genome (sol genomic network, [ 59]) (for primer sequences see Additional file 2: Table S3).
Although it is well established that acute CORT treatment or stressful conditions associated with learning paradigms can activate expression of some IEGs, notably Arc and Egr1 (64, 72, 91, 92), the present results show that chronic GC exposure activates a much broader genomic network important for learning/plasticity than recognized previously.
The latter observation relates the SS to a recently observed class of molecular biology phenomena, such as protein networks and more in general of genomic interaction networks [26], [28] and draws a bridge between phenomena whose underlying mechanism is a language, words for the SS and the DNA alphabet for the genomic networks.
The study of cis-regulatory DNAs that control developmental gene expression is integral to the modeling of comprehensive genomic regulatory networks for embryogenesis.
Using this genomic information, a gene network for the regulation of nitrogen fixation and ammonia uptake can be suggested for A. ferrooxidans that is consistent with similar models derived from other organisms [ 84].
In view of the recent calls for the development of common principles applying to data access and use [ 7, 10], Public Population Project in Genomics (PG) [ 11], European Network for Genetic and Genomic Epidemiology (ENGAGE) [ 12] and Centre for Health, Law and Emerging Technologies (HeLEX) [ 13] are working on an international data sharing Code of Conduct (Box 1).
But there are currently no empirical data to test the correspondence between genomic and metabolic networks for carotenoid production across birds.
