FRANKLIN, La .— The power was out, the backup generator had failed, the sugarcane was sideways in the wind and the nurses at Franklin Foundation Hospital were not worried a bit.
On Dec. 4, a United Airlines flight from Houston to Newark made an emergency landing after it appeared that one of its power generators had failed.
