The challenge remains to identify the mutations that collectively underlie HD and OA in order to understand the molecular pathogenesis of these diseases and develop marker and gene based tests and novel treatments.
Several approaches like gene based tests [ 8, 9] and pathway analysis [ 10] have been proposed to overcome this limitation of inadequate statistical power in GWAS.
