The Museums Association, founded in 1889 to represent Britain's museums and galleries, reversed a 30-year ban on selling art and urged its 1,500 members on Monday to get rid of objects that are gathering dust, the BBC reported.
It is a gathering of some 50 objects celebrating national pride, from many of the museum's departments: decorative arts, textiles, folk art sculpture, trade signs, toys and useful objects.

There's the 1974 tableau, "The Destruction of the Father," a gathering of mammary-like objects and penile knobs said to represent the "sacrificial evisceration of a body," more specifically "a pompous father, whose presence deadens the dinner hour night after night".
The material culture of all three groups was limited in types of objects but versatile and highly efficient in its adaptation to the peoples' hunting-and-gathering economy.
