Functional volumes consisted of 28 oblique (parallel to the AC-PC plane) slices covering the brain and brainstem (4 mm thickness, 0.5 mm gap, in-plane resolution 3.125×3.125 mm, repetition time = 2 sec, TE = 30 ms, flip angle = 90°, field of view = 20×20 cm).
To further confirm the effect of oxidation-induced increases in gap thickness between Au NPs and Al films, thermal oxidation was also used to oxidize the films to different extents.
