Adding lixisenatide prevented weight gain and led to an expected increase in the frequency of gastrointestinal side effects and modestly increased rates of hypoglycemia.
Between FTC and PDTC, an increase in the frequencies of gains at: 7p, 9q and 14q and a decrease in the frequencies of losses at 3q and 8q were observed to be significantly different (P<0.05).
Between PDTC and ATC, the decrease in the frequencies of gains at 7p and 12q, and the increase in the frequencies of losses at regions 7q and 13q, were also statistically significant (P<0.05).
We also observed an increase of borderline significance in the frequency of gain on 3p (P=0.06) in the tumours occurring in children under 5, which has been previously described in this age group in smaller studies (Mostert et al, 2000; Schneider et al, 2002; Veltman et al, 2005).
Indeed, many types of traffic deaths became less common during the 1990's, although a large part of the gains was offset by increases in the frequency of rollover deaths and in the frequency of deaths in collisions between sport utility vehicles and cars.
Germinomas showed borderline significant increases in the frequency of gain on 12q (P=0.07) and 19q (P=0.095), and loss on 11q (P=0.095).
In comparison to the 14 MGCTs in children under 5, the 19 primary MGCTs in children of 5 or over showed minor increases in the frequency of gain on 2q, 3q, 12 and loss on 11q only, with none of these differences attaining even borderline statistical significance (data not shown).
We did not find significant differences in the frequency of 3q27 gains (the genomic site of BCL6) between the two groups.
However, regardless of treatment, only a minority of children were reported to gain benefit in terms of a reduction in the frequency of headaches of at least 50% or a reduction in perceived pain intensity (Table 3).
