IF YOU'VE GOT a chunk of your employer's stock in your 401(k) retirement account and are thinking of switching it into one of the plan's other investment options — perhaps to protect gains — stop.
We then split the resulting loci into two categories: 1) those with likely functional consequences (i.e. non-synonymous coding, start gained, start lost, stop gained, stop lost) and 2) those showing synonymous effects (i.e. synonymous coding, synonymous start).
SNVs were classified as either causing (nonsynonymous SNVs) or not causing (synonymous SNVs) amino acid changes, or either causing the gain (stop-gain) or loss (stop-loss) of a stop codon.
We performed experimental validation for 68 nonfunctional SNPs (stop gain, stop loss, and loss of initiator methionine) and 200 frame-disrupting indels (Additional file 4).

An SNP is considered disease related if it meets all of following criteria: 1) Is functionally related (synonymous, missense, stop gain, stop loss, splicing error, and frame shift), 2) has low mutated allele frequency in the human population (<0.05), and 3) is reported to be related to a disease in at least two cases.
A recent report on one such well in the North Sea indicated an apparent partial mud loss during circulation and a pit gain after stopping the circulation.
This explains the lower (more favourable) ICERs for men because they have relatively higher numbers of life-years to gain from stopping smoking[ 5, 25].
