The methodology outlined here used publicly available data on mortality, weather, and air pollution to estimate the historical and future impact of heat waves on human health and is broadly applicable to estimating future heat wave mortality for locations around the world and to estimating the impacts of other climate-related risk factors such as floods, droughts, and air pollution exposure.
The binding affinity displayed by these compounds positions them as lead compounds for the design of future inhibitors of heat shock protein 90 based on the β-lactam and imine templates.
If Hawaiian corals are not able to increase their tolerance to future levels of heat stress, model output suggests it is extremely unlikely that viable coral populations will exist in the shallow waters of the Hawaiian Archipelago in 2100.

If we do not consider adaptations in the modeling, it would likely lead to an overestimate of the future effects of heat.
Unless this can be incorporated into predictive models, such models may be less appropriate to use when predicting the future burden of heat waves on human health.
The heat stress responsive genes identified in this study will facilitate our understanding of molecular basis for heat tolerance in different wheat genotypes and future improvement of heat tolerance in wheat and other cereals.
