Cohesion was monitored using the LacO-LacI system where cells contained a GFP-LacI fusion and tandem LacO repreats integrated at one chromosomal locus, which recruits the GFP-LacI (Straight et al., 1996).
The sequences positioned in between consecutive CLE motifs are similar to one another, indicating a fusion of tandem duplications of the gene or a mis-annotation of the genome or EST entry.
