Several of these sequences were cloned from cDNA in order to ensure that they were genuinely present in G. pallida and for further functional analysis (below).
Upon further analysis (see below) we find that this motif is nearly identical to a part of a repetitive sequence element containing two GAS sites (Fig. 2d).
