Memristor is an exciting new addition to the repertoire of fundamental circuit elements.
Compared with the three conventional fundamental circuit elements (resistor, inductor, and capacitor), the memristor is a nonlinear time-varying element.
Perhaps the most compelling example of this is the physical realization of the memristor, a fundamental circuit element first proposed by Chua in 1971 [25].
What's more, the switch's performance bears a strong resemblance to that of a memristor, a component theorized in 1971 as a fourth fundamental circuit element (along with the capacitor, resistor and inductor).
This model is based on the fundamental circuit equations of a solar PV array taking into the effects of physical and environmental parameters such as cell temperature, solar irradiation and shading condition.
Memristor as the fourth fundamental circuit element was first proposed by Chua [1] in 1971 based on logical symmetry arguments, and it was realized by Hewlett-Packard [2] research team in 2008.

Joglekar et al. [94] also investigated memristive device implementation in standard fundamental circuits along with the other basic elements R, L and C. Combining these four basic elements (memristor, inductor, resistor, and capacitor), the functioning of standard circuits such as MC, MLC, etc. were studied.
Dr. Dan Siegel, physician educator and researcher: "There are two fundamental circuits of the brain: those that allow you to do and those that allow you to be".
E. Georg von Kleist, (born c. 1700, Prussian Pomerania?—died Dec. 11, 1748, Köslin, Pomerania?) German administrator and cleric who discovered (1745) the Leyden jar, a fundamental electric circuit element for storing electricity, now usually referred to as a capacitor.
It represents the relationship between magnetic flux and charge, and is considered the fourth fundamental passive circuit element beside the resistance, capacitance and inductance [1, 2].
For model 1, the fundamental WTA circuit is considered in isolation (Fig. 1A).
