We previously reported the presence of functional vitamin B6 inadequacy in rheumatoid arthritis patients: ΔtHcy after a methionine load test was significantly higher in patients with rheumatoid arthritis than healthy matched controls, indicating that impaired trans-sulfuration accompanied the low plasma vitamin B6 levels [ 2, 16].
