Patient functional disability was evaluated at enrolment based on an NP-C-specific disability scale, which assessed neurological impairment based on four functional domains ambulation, manipulation, language and swallowing each rated on a four- to five-point scale with scores ranging from 0 (normal) to 1 (worse) (15, 28).
A multi-dimensional assessment of physical functioning at baseline would allow early identification of patients at greatest risk of functional decline and thereby stratification for enrolment in exercise programmes or other interventions, in preparation for systemic anticancer treatment.
