The pooled analysis showed that both additive and non-additive genetic variances were important in controlling the expression of all the traits, however additive variance for days to flowering, fruit length, fruit width, average fruit weight, and pericarp thickness, and non-additive variance for total fruit yield plant−1 and plant spread were comparatively more important.
The maximum fruit yield, averaged over six harvests, was reached with the rates calculated with the response curve as N=220 kg ha−1, P=20 kg ha−1 and K=310 kg ha−1.
SA application at low concentration (10−6 M) positively increased the foliage fresh and dry weight, fruit number, average fruit weight, fruit yield, vitamin C, carotenoids content, cuticle thickness of fruit pericarip and translocation of sugars from leaves to fruits.
From these variables, number of fruits per plant, peduncle length and fruit average fresh weight not showed significant differences between populations but only fruit average dry weight showed significant differences (Table 2) with higher values the fruits collected in Los Gatos plants, followed by Santiago (Table 3).
The most important point was that in three of six A. digitata fruits the average central temperature remained below 90 °C within the test time and additionally as well in two further fruits at least at one of both central tc's.
As the emissions are progressively reduced, the optimal balance of total fruit and vegetable consumption gradually shifts towards increasing vegetable consumption, since vegetables are associated with lower GHG emissions than fruits on average (figure 4).
Results showed 80% of parents ate breakfast daily, consumed sugary beverages 2.7 ± 2.5SD days per week, and had at least two different vegetables and fruits an average of 5.2 ± 1.8SD and 4.6 ± 2.0SD days per week.
Our across-strain analysis identified two additional QTL with opposite effects: QTL3-2 and QTL5-1 inumbered number of fruit but decreased average fruit weight (Table 4).
In addition, new QTL were found: QTL4-1 and QTL7 significantly affected number of fruit, QTL3-1 averaged average fruit weight, and QTL5-2 affected shoot weight.
The main cultivars 'Biqi' (with black fruit and average weight of 11 g) and 'Dongkui' (red fruit and average weight of 22 g) are pure scion cultivars, and have been widely cultivated in China.
