In this energy range, the Half Width Half Maximum (HWHM) resolution of the LETG ranges from 700-900 km/sec.
The Rayleigh reorientational relaxation time, τRay, of pyridine, calculated from the half-width of the depolarized Rayleigh spectrum, attains a maximum at approximately x=0.2 at which the gel undergoes the abrupt volume change.

To examine the synchrony of significantly correlated pairs of spikes over time, we first calculated the raw synchrony (RS) by averaging synchrony magnitudes in the STCC, taken from the half-width area around the peak in the CCH.
The spFRET peaks centered at 0.85 have half-widths of 0.08, only slightly higher than the half-width of 0.07 predicted from shot noise.
From this, orientation tuning bandwidth was extracted as the half-width at half-height of the fitted orientation tuning curve.
The half-width of the native state peak is 0.14, considerably wider than the half-width of 0.07 that would be predicted from shot noise.
The obtained values are in good agreement with the structural characteristics of the κ-carrageenan/CPC complexes determined independently by SAXS and SANS from the position and the half-width of the Braggs peaks of the scattering patterns.
Pooled data from 8 neurons showed that SKF83959 significantly reduced the amplitudes of action potential (from 96.3±2.1 to 81.8±2.7 mV, paired t test, P<0.001) and increased the half-width of the spikes from 1.2±0.1 to 1.7±0.1 ms, paired t test, P<0.01) (Fig. 7C).
Tuning width was the half-width at half-maximum of the fit above the baseline.
An empirical correlation was suggested to correlate the jet half width obtained from the velocity profiles.
