We sought to build a 'thick description' [ 32] of organisational life from the bottom up, adopting an interpretive perspective of organisation - a perspective which considers that 'organisational culture' is not a 'given' but is accomplished through recurring patterns of relationships and co-constructed meanings and actions [ 33].
