There is no gold standard frailty test, and numerous tests have been described in the literature that differs substantially in the way they operationalize the frailty concept.
The initial inclusion criterion, the low specificity Barber Questionnaire, has been included in this study because it was the first frailty test to be used in our clinical records.

20 Similar to a previous validation study, 21 only the second part, ie, the part used to determine the level of frailty, was tested for its internal consistency.
The predictive validity of the frailty classification was tested against 2-year mortality and 4-year disability.
The internal validity of the frailty indicators was tested with latent class analysis, by modelling an underlying variable with three ordered categories.
Falls during the past 12 months were ascertained for a prevalent multi-center HD cohort (n = 762) aged 20 92 years, and associations with demographic and treatment characteristics, comorbidities, cognitive function, prescribed medications, balance tests, frailty and depressive symptoms were assessed.
Interactions between frailty and age were tested using a Wald test.
Results: Significant improvement was made by the exercise group on our primary indicator of frailty, a physical performance test (PPT) (29 ± 4 vs 31 ± 4 out of a possible 36 points), as well as many of the risk factors previously identified as contributors to frailty; eg, reductions in flexibility, strength, gait speed, and poor balance.
Mutation Arg719Gln showed a worse prognosis than the rest (logrank test p<0.0001, frailty model p<0.01, figure 3B and table A in online supplementary file).
Among mutations with at least 10 evaluated individuals, Ile736Thr showed a better prognosis than the rest of mutations (logrank test p=0.008, frailty model p=0.01) (figure 3A, and table A in online supplementary file).
No significant difference in survival was observed between our cases with mutations in the converter region versus those from the bibliography (logrank test p=0.45; frailty model p=0.26, figure 2A and table A in online supplementary file).
