Hagger and colleagues (2012) randomly assigned students from the United Kingdom to one of four instruction conditions delivered using Web and e-mail: implementation intention only (setting specific intentions to reduce alcohol intake), mental simulation only (visualizing achieving goals), a combination of the two, and an assessment-only control.
Except for the condition in which subjects had to judge the numerically larger number, the conditions now predicted outcomes that allow differentiation between the three hypotheses (Fig. 1; bar graphs show the predicted outcomes for the three hypotheses in each of the four instruction conditions).

The chip's main advantage over competing chips when it's officially released later this year, the company says, is that it will execute eight instructions per clock cycle, versus four instructions per clock cycle on competing chips from Intel and Advanced Micro Devices.
