The newly redesigned MCAT reports both an overall score and percentile ranking, as well as scores and percentile rankings in each of the four sections: biological and biochemical foundations of living systems; chemical and physical foundations of biological systems; psychological, social, and biological foundations of behavior; and critical analysis and reasoning skills.
"Therefore," Ionesco writes, "we are now in search of permanent foundations of behavior that will once again moralize politics.
But in 2014 the MCAT added a new section on the psychological, social and biological foundations of behavior.
As of 2015, the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) will change to include new sections on "psychological, social and biological foundations of behavior" and "critical analysis and reasoning skills".
This new version of the exam will include a section called "Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations of Behavior" which will measure applicants to medical school on their understanding of core concepts in psychology and sociology -- those concepts critically important to working intimately with people, like doctors do on a daily basis.
As of 2015, you will need the background of one semester of introductory psychology and one semester of introductory sociology to be prepared for the Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations of Behavior section of the MCAT.
The test is broken into four sections: Biological and Biochemical Foundations of Living Systems; Chemical and Physical Foundations of Biological Systems; Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations of Behavior; and Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills.[2].
The first section is "Biological and Biochemical Foundations of Living Systems," the second section is "Chemical and Physical Foundations of Biological Systems," the third section is "Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations of Behavior," and the fourth section is "Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills".[8] The full test is 230 questions and takes a little over four hours to complete.
