A classic form of psychodynamic therapy is psychoanalysis, in which the patient engages in free association of ideas and feelings and the psychoanalyst offers interpretations as to the meaning of the associations.
To the Editor: As a means of stabilizing patients so they can begin cognitive rehabilitation and perhaps some form of psychodynamic therapy, the possible new medication may prove to be an improvement over current drugs, which can have various side effects.
