With CLIO 7.10.9 we've updated the rules for determining the "Format" of items.
In particular, the shared format of items in math, science, and problem solving may explain an overlap between their cognitive demands.
A number of issues emerged however in relation to the response format of items, and the fit of some items.
This procedure resulted in 13 I, 26 A and 20 P candidate items (for details of this procedure and format of items see Additional file 1: initial item pool reduction).

To check the overall fit in both formats, analyses of item, reliability, and model fit were used (see Table 2).
