It acts in a dosage-dependent [correction of dosage-dependant] manner to suppress the formation of wing veins and is required cell-autonomously to promote the development of intervein cells.
Based on genetic analyses, CV2 was first discovered in Drosophila where it is required for signaling by the BMP homologues Dpp and Gbb during the formation of wing crossveins [31] [33].
