Fgf22 was critical for cell proliferation, the formation of the roof plate, and the specification of the tectum through Fgfr2b in the midbrain.
The present results indicate that Fgf22 regulated by Fgf3/Fgf8 signaling but not by Hh signaling is involved in the formation of the roof plate and the specification of the tectum through Fgfr2b in the midbarin.
