As shown in figure 3, the Bayesian phylogenetic tree included SMF2 and another 91 strains, representing 20 formally described species plus four phylogenetic species and lone lineages within Longibrachiatum clade.
The genus Anopheles comprises almost 500 formally named species, although many of them are complexes of sibling species [ 2, 3].
